Concept
Participating Artists will be given images of 30 to 50 of the best and favorite pieces within the Schar Art Collection.
Artists will choose a piece as inspiration to make an original art quilt “in conversation” with their chosen artwork.
They will use their inspirational piece as a jumping off point. For example, they might choose the color palette, an emotion, or a memory that the artwork evokes.
The art quilts will be hung with a small companion wall label showing an image of their conversational piece along with its location within the Schar campus.
Each quilt will be 30” x 30”
A quilt is defined using the Studio Art Quilt Associates definition: "a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure."
